You need to read The Storm in the Barn. I think it's just as good as Tales of Outer Suburbia.I definitely agree with you on Peace, Locomotion. Locomotion is a better book though I'm glad she wrote Peace.Marcelo and Marching for Freedom are both great reads. I have no idea which one to root for.

This is a lot like the experience I had with Leaving Gee's Bend, which I just finished last night. I didn't care about any of the characters and I don't think the author did either. The story had an artificial, made up feel to it and was just awful. I'd love to have someone who has studied literature explain this deficit!

It's interesting how various tour hosts have felt about this book. You're one of the few to actually *like* one of the characters. Most of the characters are unlikable, and it's been interesting to see how tour hosts have liked or not liked that.
